Canadian Institute for Theatre Technologyの年次イベントRendez-vous 2026が、8月12〜14日にカナダ・オタワで開かれている。会場はオタワ大学演劇学科のLabO。舞台技術を軸に、ライブ音響、照明、映像、設備、教育に携わる実務者が集まる。
スピーカー分野の中心は、8月13日9時から10時まで予定されるラウドスピーカー展示。カタログやブース展示だけでは把握しにくいシステムの音量感、指向性、音色を、同じ会場で比較できるプログラムとなる。
続く11時から15時まではトレードショーを開催する。公式出展者一覧にはd&b audiotechnik Canada、GerrAudio、Contact Distribution、Sennheiser、AVL Mediaなど、カナダのプロオーディオ市場で製品供給やシステム支援を担う企業が並ぶ。
イベントは新製品発表だけを目的としたものではない。舞台設備の設計、運用、安全、教育までを扱うため、スピーカー単体よりも、実際の劇場やツアーで音響システムをどう選び、組み上げるかを確認できる場として価値がある。

The Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology is holding its annual Rendez-vous event in Ottawa from August 12 to 14. Hosted at LabO, part of the University of Ottawa's Department of Theatre, the programme brings together practitioners working across live sound, lighting, video, venue systems, and education.
For loudspeaker professionals, the key session is the dedicated showcase scheduled from 9 to 10am on August 13. It offers a chance to compare system output, coverage, and tonal character in one venue, qualities that are difficult to judge from specification sheets or booth displays alone.
