Product Overview

The SH96HO is a high-output three-way point-source PA loudspeaker based on Danley Sound Labs' Synergy Horn. Four 15-inch LF drivers, six 4-inch MF drivers and one 1.4-inch-exit HF compression driver are coupled to a single 90° × 60° horn. It is intended for long-throw, high-output applications including large sports facilities, arenas, stadiums and houses of worship.

The passive enclosure is bi-amplified through separate LF and MF/HF channels. Acoustic low-pass filtering for the LF and MF sections is formed within the horn paths, while a Sentinel limiter is built into the HF circuit. Danley also supplies presets for its DNA amplifier and processing platform.

Eleven drivers coupled to one horn

Rather than dividing LF, MF and HF among separate horns or enclosures, the SH96HO couples all eleven drivers to one large horn. Output from each band emerges through the same horn mouth, forming a single three-way point-source enclosure.

Band division through the horn paths

LF and MF energy enters through multiple ports along the horn, whose passages and openings form acoustic low-pass filters. Band division therefore uses the acoustic paths as well as electrical crossover processing, aligning where and when the bands combine within the horn.

Bi-amplified LF and MF/HF sections

The input is divided into LF and MF/HF channels. The LF section can be wired for 2 or 8 ohms, while the MF/HF section operates at 4 ohms. The enclosure does not contain power amplification and is intended to be deployed with external amplifiers and system processing.

HF protection and system presets

A Sentinel limiter is built into the HF circuit to protect the high-frequency driver under excessive input. Danley supplies settings for its DNA amplifier and processing platform so crossover, equalisation and limiting can be operated with product-specific parameters.

High-output 90° × 60° point source

Nominal coverage is 90° horizontal by 60° vertical, with maximum output of 133dB continuous and 139dB peak. Rather than constructing vertical coverage from multiple elements as a line array does, one enclosure covers a defined area as a high-output point source.

Installation and weather-resistant options

In addition to the standard model, Danley offers I installation, T touring and enhanced-weather-resistance EW versions. The 120.2kg enclosure uses 18mm Baltic birch plywood with a polyurea finish; flown and outdoor systems require the appropriate version and engineered mounting.
