Product Overview
The L2 is a progressive-wavefront line-source element introduced by L-Acoustics in 2023. Four fixed-angle modules contain four 12-inch LC drivers, eight 10-inch LF drivers and eight 3-inch HF compression drivers. A single enclosure forms 10° of vertical coverage, while Panflex on each module selects 70°, asymmetric 90° or 110° horizontal coverage.
The transducer groups are individually driven by 16 amplifier channels from an LA7.16 or LA7.16i, allowing low-frequency cardioid or supercardioid operation, horizontal coverage and inter-module timing to be managed as a system. Instead of setting many inter-element angles as with a conventional line array, the required curvature and directivity control are consolidated within each enclosure.

Design & Technology
Four fixed-angle modules
The L2 integrates four modules with a fixed progressive curvature to produce a 10° vertical wavefront from one enclosure. Each module contains one 12-inch LC driver, two 10-inch LF drivers and two 3-inch HF compression drivers. Unlike conventional arrays that set angles between separate elements on site, the curvature is fixed within the enclosure.
Low-frequency control using front and rear radiation
The side-mounted 12-inch LC drivers radiate through front and rear openings and work with the 10-inch LF sections to control rearward low-frequency radiation. L2 presets provide cardioid and supercardioid options for different venue geometries and on-stage low-frequency requirements.
Module-level Panflex selection

Panflex fins on each module select 70°, 110° or a 90° asymmetric pattern widened to either side. All four modules can use the same setting, or different settings can be combined to match the audience geometry.
16-channel drive from the LA7.16
The L2 connects to an LA7.16 or installation-focused LA7.16i through a 37-point cable and uses 16 amplifier channels. Separating modules and frequency bands for DSP processing allows curvature, horizontal coverage and front-to-rear low-frequency radiation to be managed within the fixed enclosure.
System presets
Presets are provided for the L2 70, 90 and 110 Panflex configurations, with cardioid and supercardioid variants. Preset configurations combining the L2 with KS28 subwoofers can extend system bandwidth to 25Hz.
Four-element curvature consolidated into one enclosure
L-Acoustics states that one L2 has the same contour as an array of four K2 elements while reducing volume by 46% and weight by 40%. This manufacturer comparison with a K2 system illustrates how the fixed four-module architecture consolidates transport, flying and angle-setting operations.
Pinless rigging and a single connection
The rigging uses a pinless auto-locking system and requires no inter-element angle setting. Amplifier outputs are consolidated into one multipin connection, and multiple L2 enclosures can be coupled into a longer line source. The enclosure and grille are rated IP55.
