Audio Group Denmark will present a system built around Børresen M8 loudspeakers and Aavik M880 monoblocks at the Hong Kong High-End AV Show from August 7 to 9. Each M8 weighs 325kg and combines a ribbon high-frequency section with multiple eight-inch bass drivers.
The loudspeaker is specified from 20Hz to 50kHz at 87dB sensitivity. M880 is a pure-Class-A monoblock rated at 400W into 8 ohms, 800W into 4 ohms and 1,300W into 2 ohms, making current delivery into a demanding load part of the pairing.
A show demonstration can establish the scale and direction of the system, but a short session cannot settle value or room suitability. Very large loudspeakers are especially dependent on low-frequency conditions and placement, so consistency across seats may be more revealing than sheer playback level.
