New Administrative Capital Stadium in Cairo, Egypt, a venue for football matches, national events, and large public gatherings, has been outfitted with a Harman Professional sound reinforcement system. The installation combines components from JBL Professional, Crown, and BSS for venue-wide coverage.
The loudspeaker design is based on JBL VLA-C256 loudspeakers arranged in 20 clusters around the stadium perimeter. Each cluster uses multiple VLA-C256 elements in compact vertical arrays, mounted on the roof structure and aimed downward for controlled vertical dispersion and long-throw coverage across the seating bowl. The reported measurements include average sound pressure levels of 96 to 100 dBA, peaks up to 108 dBA, level consistency within +/-3 dB across most seating zones, and STI values from 0.55 to 0.65.
The networked system backbone combines BSS BLU-806 signal processors with Crown DCi DriveCore Network Series amplifiers for routing, equalization, delay alignment, zoning, diagnostics, and remote management. Integration with the stadium's fiber-optic network supports low-latency transmission between the central control room and distributed amplifier locations, while the VLA-C Series' IP55 weather protection is cited for outdoor exposure, dust, and high temperatures in the region.
