KEF has unveiled the LS LUXE, a wireless active loudspeaker styled by Ross Lovegrove and positioned above the LS50 Wireless II. Its acoustic core is a 12th-generation 6.5-inch Uni-Q array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology and KEF's Music Integrity Engine DSP.
The technical departure is Velocity Control Technology, or VECO. A sensor measures cone velocity in real time and returns that information to a dedicated current-drive amplifier, allowing the system to correct motion error inside a closed loop. Each enclosure combines a 100W Class AB stage with 280W of Class D current-drive amplification.
KEF's W2 platform provides playback up to 24-bit/384kHz, native service integration, AirPlay, Google Cast, and room EQ through the Connect app. HDMI eARC, optical, coaxial, analogue inputs, and subwoofer outputs make it usable beyond streaming. The pair is priced at US$3,999.99 or EUR4,000 in three finishes.
