Dynaudio details the 24-driver Opus One and its kinetic fins

Dynaudio has provided a closer look at the Opus One, an integrated audio system that combines 24 drivers and 1,500W of amplification in a 1.86-metre cabinet. Its 72 wooden fins open and close with the power state.

Marantz CINEMA Series 2 expands Dirac and standardises an eight-channel DAC

Marantz has announced CINEMA Series 2. CINEMA 50, 60, 60 DAB, and 70s adopt a new 32-bit eight-channel DAC, while paid Dirac Live support extends to the 60 models and 70s. Web Control 2.0, HDMI Diagnostics 2.0, and future low-latency Bluetooth LE Audio are also included.

Beat Panner 1.1 exports rhythmic movement as object metadata

Sound Particles has released Beat Panner 1.1. Beat-synchronised motion can now be copied as object metadata and pasted as automation onto a DAW Object Track, allowing the same movement to reach a final immersive renderer instead of remaining locked inside the plug-in.

Alliance for Open Media releases Open Audio Renderer v1

The Alliance for Open Media has published version 1 of the Open Audio Renderer. The open reference implementation maps channel- and object-based material to both loudspeaker and headphone playback, giving developers a common basis for testing the final rendering stage of spatial-audio delivery.

Wave Church brings L-ISA imaging to a wide 2,500-seat auditorium

Wave Church in Virginia Beach has installed an L-Acoustics L-ISA system for its wide, low-trim 2,500-seat auditorium. Five L2D scene arrays, supporting A Series hangs, and centrally flown cardioid KS28 subwoofers replace a mono system that left coverage and imaging gaps.

Genelec monitors recreate life aboard the U17 submarine exhibit

Technik Museum Sinsheim has integrated eleven Genelec 8010A monitors and two 8030Cs throughout the U17 submarine. The compact distributed system recreates engine, sonar, and crew sounds inside the vessel without compromising its confined interior or historic fabric.
