Monitor Audio has added a Custom Finish Editions programme to its Hyphn flagship. Buyers can select from more than 200 matte, gloss and metallic colours, with painting and final assembly completed at the company's Rayleigh headquarters in Essex. The quoted lead time is about three months.
The acoustic design is unchanged. Hyphn retains its cabinet machined from an acrylic, mineral and natural-pigment composite, along with the existing driver and crossover architecture. Standard Heritage Green, Matte Black and Pure Satin White finishes remain available, making this a visual specification service rather than a new Hyphn generation.
Standard models cost GBP70,000 each, while a bespoke finish raises that to GBP80,250. At this end of the market, colour and integration increasingly form part of the product brief. Buyers will also want clarity on long-term paint matching and repair support, not simply the size of the launch palette.
