eCoustics reported the Rotel Amora 5 on August 19. Better known for amplifiers, CD players and digital source components, Rotel is entering the loudspeaker category again after an absence of more than 30 years. The single new model extends its system proposition from source and amplification to the final acoustic output, with availability scheduled for August 2026.

Amora 5 is a passive two-way bass-reflex standmount. Its 25mm silk-dome tweeter sits in an aluminium mounting ring behind a shaped ABS faceplate intended to control diffraction. A 165mm woven-fibre composite mid/bass cone runs in a rigid aluminium frame, with the two drivers divided by a 2.5kHz crossover.

The MDF enclosure vents through a rear port. Rotel specifies a 48Hz–28kHz frequency response, 87dB sensitivity at 2.83Vrms/1m, nominal 8-ohm impedance, and a recommended amplifier range of 30–120W. Two sets of gold-plated binding posts support conventional single wiring or bi-wiring.

Dimensions are 350 x 190 x 300mm and listed weight is 7.7kg. Matte black and matte white are the two cabinet finishes, both supplied with a removable black grille. The pair is priced at $999, €999 or £999 and will be sold through authorised Rotel dealers.

eCoustics sees no unusual topology in the Amora 5's two-way design, identifying its main appeal as the option to build a complete Rotel-branded playback system. It also notes that the market around $1,000 per pair is crowded, leaving the new model to establish a clear case against well-known alternatives.
