Violet Audio has expanded the dMix 128 digital mixer platform with an MCP server that runs directly inside the mixer. The addition is intended to connect the console with external applications, facility control systems, automation platforms, network infrastructure and AI-assisted tools.
The dMix 128 already supports browser-based operation, an OSC server, QRC/JSON system control, AES67 networking, SMPTE ST 2110-30 audio transport and NMOS discovery and connection management. With MCP, compatible applications such as ChatGPT, Claude or other MCP-enabled tools can pass conversational requests to the mixer for actions including muting microphones, changing channel levels, recalling snapshots or configuring workflows.
The source outlines basic examples such as muting lobby loudspeakers, raising a lectern microphone by 2 dB, recalling a Sunday service scene and identifying channels nearing clipping. It also describes broader workflows for broadcast input routing, virtual soundcheck, event room preparation and multi-step operating sequences, while retaining full access to the professional mixing environment for engineers.
