audioXpress reported Celestion’s CDX1-1413 on August 19 as an ultra-compact screw-thread HF compression driver. The 1-inch-exit, 25mm-throat model uses a neodymium magnet system and handles the high-frequency output in sound-reinforcement loudspeakers.

Power handling is listed as 35W AES and 70W continuous. The stated frequency range is 1,500–20,000Hz, and the recommended minimum crossover point is 2,000Hz with a 12dB/oct slope. The two power figures describe separate AES and continuous ratings.

The driver uses a 35mm screw-thread fitting, measures 60mm wide by 34.5mm deep, and weighs 0.4kg. Celestion describes the compact format as intended for highly portable applications.

The diaphragm and surround are formed from a single piece of polyimide film, while the 35mm voice coil uses copper-clad aluminium wire. Celestion lists CDX1-1412 as the bolt-mount version, leaving the 35mm threaded horn connection and a crossover at or above 2,000Hz as the practical selection points for CDX1-1413.
