Christ Church Kowloon Tong in Hong Kong has replaced a sound system that had been in service for more than 20 years. Tones Tailor supplied and installed the new system, with the church seeking a move from analogue to digital and a solution sensitive to the sanctuary’s historic appearance.
The installation centers on HK Audio SI SERIES P10i and P10j column loudspeakers, selected for clear and controlled coverage. The controlled vertical dispersion of the P10 columns is intended to reduce reflections from walls and ceiling, while an SI SERIES S 210 subwoofer can be used for music and live events, and FINEO FO5 and FO8 loudspeakers support front-fill and monitoring roles.
Tones Tailor identified the church’s long reverberation time as a major acoustic challenge and noted the need for equipment that would not stand out visually in the historic building. The P10 system’s vertical dispersion and flexible mounting options therefore served both the acoustic brief and the architectural constraints.
