Festival Napa Valley used Meyer Sound systems supplied by Sound Image across its 20th-anniversary programme from July 4–19. More than 300 artists appeared at over 60 wineries, theatres, and open-air stages, with programmes shifting among opera, symphonic music, jazz, ballet, and smaller recitals.
At Charles Krug Winery, the main stage was built around LEOPARD line arrays, four flown 900-LFC low-frequency elements, four ULTRA-X20 front fills, and GALAXY 816 processing. FOH reports that the array angle and height were adjusted for a seating plan with a raised rear section.
Eight further ULTRA-X20s formed a distributed orchestra-monitoring system. Instead of assigning a wedge to every musician, the production team delivered section-based mixes and added six MJF-210 spot monitors when performers requested them, allowing the onstage reproduction plan to change with the ensemble.
The Arts for All Gala at Nickel & Nickel Winery used two ULTRA-X80 mains, three ULTRA-X40 fills, two UPJ-1P fills, and four 2100-LFC elements. That point-source system was sized for the gala tent rather than carrying the Charles Krug line-array format into a different room.
A compact ULTRA-X40 system also moved among 60 locations in ten days for winery dinners and pop-up performances. FOH's report draws on manufacturer-supplied project information and gives no venue-by-venue measurements, but it documents distinct reproduction systems for the main audience, the orchestra, and fast-moving small events.
