Nuvoton's NAU83G60YG combines a Class D power stage with a low-latency audio DSP. From a 24V supply it can deliver 2 x 30W into 4-ohm loads, or 30W into 2 ohms in parallel BTL mode. An 8V-to-24V supply range opens the door to mains-powered, battery-operated, and automotive designs.

At the heart of the chip is Klippel Controlled Sound, an adaptive nonlinear control system that manages a driver's mechanical, electrical, and thermal limits in real time. By continuously analyzing amplifier voltage and current, KCS can account for production tolerances, temperature shifts, and changes that develop as the transducer ages.

The aim is to use more of the driver's available operating range without sacrificing protection. KCS compensates for nonlinear distortion and DC displacement while guarding against excess excursion and voice-coil overheating. In compact loudspeakers working near their limits, that can translate into more usable bass and output with less audible strain.

Two 15-band parametric EQs are integrated alongside crossover and mixing functions. Depending on configuration, the audio path runs at roughly 0.7 to 2ms of latency, while the digital interface supports I²S, PCM, and TDM audio at sample rates up to 192kHz. That reduces the need for separate processing and protection stages elsewhere in the design.

Nuvoton is targeting conference speakerphones, automotive road-noise control, televisions, soundbars, computers, and active wireless speakers. The combination of low latency and a linearized loudspeaker response is particularly relevant to echo cancellation and active noise control, where timing and a clean reference signal are critical.
