On OneRepublic’s continuing international tour, monitor engineer Chris Marinaccio is working with a Wisycom wireless in-ear monitoring system. After completing the initial European leg, referred to as “Escape to Europe,” the band stopped in California before heading to Australia and Asia, with further European appearances also planned.
The system is built around MTK952 dual transmitters, MPR50 IEM receivers and ADB3 omnidirectional antennas. Marinaccio uses one antenna for the band across both the main and B stages, and reports reaching a B stage 45 meters away even with the antenna aimed at the main stage. Wisycom’s wideband technology allows him to choose frequencies from the available spectrum at each venue rather than maintaining region-specific systems.
The practical relevance is the reduction in coordination burden across cities with different RF conditions, while also supporting IEMs, crew communications and intercom packs. In the U.S., the team uses gaps in crowded spectrum for additional wireless gear, allowing coordination to focus on 10 or 12 channels rather than all 18. Marinaccio also links the monitoring workflow to noise floor, compression and headroom, reflecting priorities shaped by his earlier studio background.
