Born & Raised is a downtown San Diego steakhouse with roughly 10,000 square feet across its main dining room, bar, and rooftop spaces, serving approximately 200 to 250 guests. The audio refresh was shaped around supporting dinner-service music and more energetic playlists later in the evening while staying visually discreet within the restaurant interior designed by Basile Studio.
CH Projects and Caneno Systems worked with 1 SOUND during design on a distributed system matched to the restaurant’s layout, acoustics, and aesthetic requirements. In the main dining room, Cannon C6i loudspeakers surround the space, while Level L35 loudspeakers are integrated into the ceiling for added center-room coverage. SUB28 subwoofers are hidden in banquette seating and custom furniture, and the rooftop uses marine-grade Cannon C6 loudspeakers with WSUB45 subwoofers, custom exterior wood finishes from the 1 SOUND Custom Shop, and A4 316 stainless steel components.
The practical point documented in the source is the coordination of placement, finish, concealment, and outdoor durability within a hospitality sound system. Indoors, distributed loudspeakers and hidden subwoofers support music across the dining areas; outdoors, marine-grade models and specified hardware extend the system to the rooftop environment overlooking downtown San Diego.
