AVIXA has begun offering SynAudCon online audio courses as part of its education portfolio for the pro AV industry. The arrangement brings SynAudCon’s practical audio training into AVIXA’s training access path, with both organizations framing the courses around stronger technical foundations for audio professionals.
Four courses are available for purchase through AVIXA. “How Sound Systems Work” is aimed at people new to audio or without formal training; “Principles of Audio” covers key technical principles, best practices, troubleshooting, and broader concepts; “Transformer-Distributed Loudspeaker Systems” explains transformer use in signal distribution and its effects on voltage, current, and reflected impedance; and “Digital Signal Processing” introduces general DSP principles for faster deployment and preparation for manufacturer DSP training.
The courses use animations, analogies, interactive calculators, and demonstrations to explain technical concepts used in everyday applications. Each purchase includes 90 days of on-demand access, allowing learners to revisit material at their own pace, and a one-year membership to SynAudCon’s forums for audio-related discussion with other professionals. The courses are purchased separately and are not included with AVIXA membership.
