A K-array-based sound system has been installed at Restaurant Hochkitzbühel bei Tomschy above the historic town of Kitzbühel in the Austrian Alps. The venue combines panoramic dining with an après-ski atmosphere and uses the system for both background music and DJ-led events.
In the main lounge, multiple Python KP52 discreet line array loudspeakers address a reflective interior that includes wood flooring and glass partitions. Dragon KX12 loudspeakers near the DJ booth add headroom and impact, Thunder KS1 and KS3 subwoofers provide low-frequency reinforcement, and the terrace uses Python KP102 columns with Rumble KU315 subwoofers.
The terrace is exposed to snow, wind, UV and rapid temperature changes, so environmental durability was a design factor alongside local noise limits. A Kommander KA68 amplifier with integrated DSP handles crossover management, delay alignment and level control across zones, while Q-SYS lets staff switch between daytime dining, après-ski gatherings and DJ events.
