OM in Seraing, Belgium, is a new 1,700-capacity live venue created from a steelworkers' banqueting hall built in 1948. To receive domestic and international tours with a recognised house PA, the operator selected L-Acoustics K3, designed and installed by XLR.
K3 places full-bandwidth touring capability in a medium-format enclosure, with Soundvision used to model the audience geometry and suspension points. The design aims for consistent level and tone from the front to the rear while respecting the structure and sightlines of the existing building.
A credible house system can reduce visiting equipment and load-in time, making dates easier for promoters to route. Some tours will still carry their own PA, so access, rigging, power and connections to visiting control equipment must be specified alongside the loudspeakers if the investment is to improve utilisation.
