Tascam has reintroduced the LA-40MKIII and LA-80MKII as updated LA-Series line level converters. The company frames the two products as revised for current audio needs in both consumer and professional settings.
The LA-40MKIII provides four channels of bidirectional balanced-to-unbalanced and unbalanced-to-balanced line level conversion. It supports level matching between balanced professional +4 dBu/-20 dBu and consumer -10 dBV unbalanced signals, and it can also operate as a distribution amplifier for feeding one source to multiple outputs.
The LA-80MKII extends the same kind of conversion and audio distribution functionality to eight channels for larger installations and environments. Both models include ground-lift switches, front-panel signal indicator lights, and trim controls on each channel for level adjustment.
