Forma Labs Audio has launched Filament, a real-time MIDI orchestration engine built for current DAW workflows. The software hosts and performs up to 64 AU/VST3 instruments inside a single DAW track, giving composers and producers a way to organize and reuse the sample libraries and virtual instruments they already own.
Midwich Ignite, the corporate venture capital arm of Midwich Group, has invested in Forte AI, an AI automation platform for professional audio production. The Turin-based startup was founded in 2024, supports Pro Tools and Logic Pro natively, and targets repetitive work in mixing and audio post production.
Matrix Productions has released qPlayer 2.0, its largest update so far for the qPlayer show control app. The release adds qPlayer Studio on Mac for timeline-based multichannel cue authoring, then allows the finished show to run from a Mac, iPad, or iPhone.
Neumann has unveiled the U 47 fet Bon Scott Edition, a studio microphone honoring AC/DC frontman Bon Scott. Based on the current-production U 47 fet reissue, the special edition adds a matte black visual treatment, Bon Scott graphics, and collector-focused presentation, with worldwide production limited to 300 units.
Monitor engineer Cory Benson is using a DiGiCo Quantum338 on Tyler Childers’ Snipe Hunt Tour with the seven-piece band The Food Stamps. Supplied by Sound Image, a Clair Global brand, the setup can deliver up to 17 stereo in-ear monitor mixes for the artist, band, backline techs, VIP feed, and guest sit-ins.
