James’ Love is the Answer tour is being mixed at front of house by Chris Lynch on a DiGiCo Quantum338. The band performs without set lists and can draw from a catalogue of more than 300 songs, so the mix position has to support fast access to a large channel count.
The stage setup includes nine performers, two drum kits, keyboards, trumpet, violin, and cello. Lynch is working from the Quantum338’s 38-fader surface and three large screens, with Quantum Spice Rack and Mustard Processing available in the console workflow.
At monitors, Aled Irfan is using a DiGiCo SD10 alongside KLANG and a Fourier Audio transform.engine. His company, AL Touring, supplies the control package including microphones, in-ear monitoring, and stage wedges, while Solotech provides the PA.
