The Faraday Club's Cinema Luxe Lounge on the fifth floor of Harrods in London has been shortlisted in the Technology & Equipment category of the 2026 SBID International Design Awards. Cinema Luxe and IndigoZest refurbished an existing media room as a residential-style demonstration space in which sound, video, lighting, and interior design operate as one environment.
The primary audio system is an L-Acoustics 7.1.2 layout. Two SOKA loudspeakers and one X6i form the front stage, with three in-wall SB10r systems assigned to LFE. Four X4i and four in-wall SB6i cover the surrounds, and a further two X4i provide the height channels.
A separate Amina plaster-in installation demonstrates an invisible-loudspeaker approach in the same room. The concealed system comprises one Sub ALF100-CV for joinery installation, two Sapphire 250 panels, and three Sapphire 375 panels, allowing visitors to compare integrated architectural audio with the main L-Acoustics system.
A single-room Control4 system built around a Core 3 controller, T4 Touchscreen, and Halo Remote coordinates audio, video, lighting, and shading. The project also integrates an 85-inch Hisense display and Q Motion blinds. Work was completed in two weeks inside the operating department store while other construction continued nearby.
The lounge centres on a clearly divided L-Acoustics layout: SOKA and X6i across the front, X4i and SB6i around and above the listener, and SB10r for low-frequency effects. Adding the concealed Amina system and unified Control4 operation turns a constrained retail room into a residential demonstration space for both visible and plastered-in loudspeaker installations.
