The Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium at Mahindra University has received a permanent Renkus-Heinz system. The enclosed 1,100-seat room supports everyday teaching as well as music and events, with consistent intelligibility and containment beyond the auditorium both part of the brief.
Two CX151B Complex Conic loudspeakers form the mains, joined by ten compact coaxial CX61Bs and ten DRS18-2B subwoofers. Key elements are mounted high around the stage and proscenium to direct energy into the raked seating while limiting visual intrusion.
Dante networking and a touch panel expose presets for university staff. That operational layer is important in a teaching venue where a specialist engineer may not be present for every session: a complex loudspeaker design still has to behave like a simple room system day to day.
