Victrola has extended availability of its Wave Bluetooth turntable to the UK and Europe. Pricing is GBP349, EUR399, and US$499. This is not a record player with amplification and speakers built in; it is designed to feed an existing audio system or a wireless speaker.
A low-resonance MDF plinth supports an aluminium platter and tonearm, with an Ortofon OM5E cartridge fitted as standard. The switchable phono stage allows Wave to connect directly to a line input or hand equalisation duties to an external phono preamplifier.
Bluetooth transmission supports aptX Adaptive and aptX HD. Wave also acts as an Auracast transmitter, allowing a record to be broadcast to multiple compatible speakers or headphones rather than being restricted to a single Bluetooth receiver.
The accompanying Soundstage is an all-in-one speaker with front-facing radiators and a downward-firing Symmetric Drive woofer. Its vibration-isolated construction is intended to make placement near a turntable more practical. Bluetooth, RCA, USB-C, and 3.5mm inputs also let it handle televisions, computers, and phones.
Soundstage is on sale in the US for $349 and is scheduled for October 1 in the UK and Europe at GBP299 and EUR329. Together, the two products offer a deliberately compact route into vinyl without requiring a conventional stack of separate components.
