Telekom Center Athens is a 19,000-seat indoor venue and the home of Panathinaikos BC AKTOR, with a brief that had to cover basketball and other event formats. The schedule tightened after the arena was selected to host the EuroLeague Final Four in May 2026, moving a planned summer 2026 completion into a shorter delivery window.
The installed system is based on 14 flown main arrays using ALi60 and ALi90 cabinets, suspended from custom d&b frames. Four arrays cover the outer corners, four are lowered for retractable seating behind the baskets, four address court-level side seating, and two are aimed at the playing area and courtside seats. Ten Vi-GSUBs are flown in cardioid configuration behind the main arrays, with additional ALi90 and ALi60 cabinets for upper-tier delay coverage and 18 8S cabinets for under-balcony fill.
The performance target called for an average 100dB(A) over 90 percent of seats, ±3dB uniformity and 37Hz–18kHz response, alongside independent zones for the court, retractable stands, and lower and upper seating tiers. Telmaco used a detailed 3D model in d&b ArrayCalc, while d&b’s Education and Application Support team assisted system design and on-site commissioning, including operational scenarios in R1 Remote. The final control setup runs from a dedicated PC for presets and monitoring, and links to the existing public address network for emergency signal relay.
