fedDSP has announced HUSH, a source-aware drum gate and de-bleed processor plugin designed for cleaning up close drum microphones. The company describes it as a fast, musical gate with a control set built for simplicity.
HUSH includes an intelligent detection system with four modes: BASIC, KICK, SNARE, and TOMS. It also provides visual threshold control, sidechain high-pass and low-pass filters, and transient shaping, followed by a de-bleed stage intended to reduce cymbal wash, kit spill, and post-hit clutter after the drum hit passes through.
The plugin offers two workflows: MIXING mode uses look-ahead for added precision and transient preservation, while LIVE mode provides immediate response for tracking or performance. LIVE mode operates at zero latency, MIXING mode adds a small amount of latency for look-ahead processing, and pricing is £25 introductory before rising to £50 after July 16, 2026.
