A Powersoft and Bose Professional audio system has been installed at a COVID-19 memorial park in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The background music system is presented as both a tribute to those lost during the pandemic and an amenity for the surrounding community, at a park whose focal point is the 6 m reflective stainless-steel sculpture titled The Tear.
The installation uses three Powersoft Quattrocanali 4804 DSP amplifiers with 18 Bose Professional AMU208 loudspeakers, 25 Bose Professional FS4SE loudspeakers and six Bose FreeSpace FS2C loudspeakers. Processing and control are handled by a Bose ControlSpace CC-64 Control Center and ESP-880A Engineered Sound Processor, with the system networked through a Cisco Catalyst switch.
Hoàng Phú Sound, the Ho Chi Minh City integrator and Powersoft distributor appointed for the project, had to address outdoor heat and humidity, long speaker cable runs and variable local mains conditions. The source identifies Powersoft’s Power Factor Correction, Hi-Z output, Smart Rails Management and Power Sharing as relevant to stable operation, reduced signal loss over distance, zoning and flexible power allocation between channels.
